Flash Tool of the Week—FlaX

Today, the tool we are going to share is FlaX—a product made by Goldshell Digital Media. It is Flash tool that creates Flash text effects. FlaX equips with 256 predefined effects, subdivided into 85 highly adjustable categories, which you can tweak using sliders and buttons; thus, you are able to create high quality text effects. FlaX will export your effect in Flash format, so you can import it into Flash for inclusion in your other work, or you can use the effect straight on your web site.

The software detects all the fonts in your computer

All fonts in your system will be shown in the software. If you want to use other font in this tool, you can download the TTF file and install on your computer; it will be shown in the list automatically.

Text effects editing

Text effect is displayed in Fx Properties window, in which contains several “factory preset”. You can also change effect by sliders and buttons and preview in WYSIWYG model.

Font color

FlaX offers many font colors and styling options like solid letters, outline only letters, gradient coloration and etc.

Text shape

You can change the shape of text and use shaping for all of the FlaX effects.

Compatibility

The text effects created by FlaX are compatible with Adobe Flash; it can be imported to SWF file directly.

Review

Pros: free, light weight and easy to use. This tool is capable of creating simple text effects which can be used in banners, ads and other SWF project.
