How to Convert Flash to HTML5 on Mac?

Step 1: open target SWF in the Flash to HTML5 converter for Mac

Launch Sothink SWF Decompiler for Mac, and then from “Explorer” panel, navigate to the folder in which the target SWF file locates.

Choose the SWF that you want to decompile, and then it will begin to play in the central preview window.

Step 2: check the SWF elements that you want to convert

Now the SWF you selected is listed in the “Single File Export” window of the “Export” panel. When you click the flash-to-html5-6 sign, all the SWF elements will be decompiled automatically and displayed by category.

Check the SWF elements that you want to convert to HTML5 files. Currently, Sothink SWF Decompiler for Mac only supports exporting Shape/Font/Text resources to SVG format, and exporting Sprite resources to Canvas tag.

Step 3: convert selected SWF elements to HTML5 files

After checking the SWF elements that you want to convert, click the “Extract” button. Now the following dialog box will appear.

Set export path and choose the export file format, and then click “OK” to start exporting the SWF resources.

When the desired SWF resources have been exported successfully, you will see the following prompt.

Step 4: find the converted HTML5 files

Now you can directly click the “Open the folder” button or go to the export folder that you specified to find the converted HTML5 files.

  1. So do you have follow-up instructions for how the file is supposed to look or be compiled? Is there supposed to be a single file that links all of those files together to create the html5 duplicate of the SWF? All I got were extracted SVGs, html files and action script. I may have done something wrong. Who knows.

  2. I re-tried the procedure, extracting only The Shapes and the Sprites. Same thing. Does this only work with AS2 files like Google Swiffy?
