Hi there:)

I have a svg file made with inkscape and I get the error: failed to import please check if the svg syntax is correct.

The file validated with w3c is ok: "This document was successfully checked as SVG 1.1+IRI, XHTML5+ARIA plus MathML 2.0 (experimental)!" and IrfanView opens it correctly.

I also tried to make it a swf (pdf -> swf tools -> swf). It displays ok in the browser, but imported in swf quicker i get objects thrown around.

Also tried all the combinations of export import file types that could match, but all lack some elements.

How could I import such a file?

Thank you.

Quicker cannot open SVG files. They are not SWFQuicker files.

In some cases you can import the file with SWFQuicker, but usually it will not work such as in cases with external action script files etc.

SUPPORT: If I am wrong, please feel free to correct this answer.

I used File -> import -> vector files (... svg, ...)

I managed to import something very simple in the meantime: no gradients, no overlapping objects.

I was thinking this was another flash program.

Images I have imported: jpg, png, gif (including animated), and bmp. There may be others.

What type of image is svg? If it is the image created by that program (like photoshop's PSD file) then it won't import.

scalable vector graphics.
It contains overlapping paths with gradients. Made with inkscape.

I had the same problem.

I solved importing svg in OpenOffice Impress. Then selecting only the object and Exporting in another format like swf.

Try also the other formats.
