Your code does work, however, it still seems a little weird in the browser. We are using iframes, and if you click in the iframe then it doesn't cause the menu to close.

It seems the perfect solution would be able to allow the popup menu to close like normal (when you hover off), but also allow that when you click an item (not necessarily outside the menu, but the menu item itself) then let it close.

I know the web isn't like regular windows development so I am happy with the solution for now.

UPDATE: I tried clicking the "Hide all sub menus since mouse out after [ ] ms" and it works with the code you gave me also, so it does exactly what I wanted. Thanks!

Again I am stumped. This time we want a menu that you click for it to popup the submenu items, but also when you click the link then the submenu closes.

I used the code:

function stcls()
{
var m;
for(var j=0;j<_STNS._aStMenus.length;j++)
{
m=_STNS._aStMenus[j];
m.aPopups[0].fbHideX(0,0,0,1);
}
}
document.onclick=stcls;

in the condition area, but when I click on "Global > General > Click to show sub menu, clicking method:" then it doesn't work anymore with that code in the condition.

Anyway we can modify the code you gave me to only work when a Link property exists, otherwise popup the sub menu?

I'm too waiting for the new conditions. I did upgrade to v6 and which is okay for the main part of my website.
For a minor menu, 3 icon-like-buttons opening an iframe, I made a 4th closing-cross-button that closes the iframe when hovered. It works but it certainly is second best.

Hi Amady,

I suggest that you upgrade to the current version of DHTML Menu which is 9.7. On the "Advanced Techniques" page of the Unofficial DHTML Menu Resource Site there is a section on closing submenus onClick.

Regards,

Bill
