I build my first menu using the DHTML Menu 3.o product at http://www.salemgraphics.com web site. When I mouseover a menu iten it shows on the screen OK, but when I remove the mouseover it stays on the screen. If I select another menu item it shows on the screen too. The screen gets cluttered and looks real bad. Did I do something wrong?

The reason is that you have checked the "Hide sub menu after clicking" option.
So now please open the menu in DHTMLMenu. Then with the "Top Level Menu" selected in structure window, click "Advanced" tab in the right panel. Then uncheck the "Hide sub menu after clicking" in "Method to show sub menu" field at the bottom of the dialog.
