HI,

I'm a new user of DHMTL Menu program (switched from Anoxy Popup menu creator) and I have problems with non-English characters which are not shown correctly on the web page. When I am editing the menu file under DHMTL Menu, the characters are shown correctly. There is a tutorial on Sothink website but it seems to be for WinXP whereas I'm running Win7SP1 (32 bit). Any ideas?

The instructions at http://www.sothink.com/tutorials/input- ... acters.htm should also be applicable to Windows 7, with some minor variations. In Windows 7 go to Control Panel > Region and Language:

Hi Bill,

This is what I have already done. I checked the settings in Formats, Location and Keyboards tabs and I have FInnish settings everywhere. Still non-English characters are shown properly. I have also checked that I have correct format settings on my computer running my web server.

Regards,
Jari

Hi,

I have made some progress. I found a link (http://coderstoolbox.net/string/) where I can encode e.g. letters "ä" and "ö". Instead of "ä" in the menu file I use "ä". Letter "ä" is then shown correctly in the browser.

Now I noticed that this works only in my asp-pages whereas in the htm-pages the non-English characters are not shown correctly. What a mess!

I wish there was an easier solution to my problem.

Regards,
Jari

Hi Jari,

There may be an easier solution. Send an email to support@sothink.com. They may be able to help you.
