I've just inherited maintenance on a site that uses DHTML menus, however I cannot find the file to edit within the site files. I see the menu codes themselves, but how to edit a particular menu.

Do I need to have the program on my machine?

Thanks for any and all help.

In order to edit a menu you need the DHTML Menu program and the source file for the menu which has an extension of .pgt.

Thank you Bill, for that quick reply.

Shouldn't that source file be in the website files? Or would I need to get it from the previous designer?

The .pgt file is a work file. It holds all the settings for your menu, then the program outputs Javascript as the menu "program" file for the browser. It should be obtained from the previous developer who created the original menu.

Ahhh, we will try. But, just in case it isn't possible, is there a way to pull it into the DHTML Menu Program from the site files and rework it from the back end? Or any other possible workaround you can think of?
Thanks so much for your help.

Once you have purchased the DHTML Menu program you can send the menu's JavaScript file to Sothink and they may be able to reconstruct the .pgt file for you. You would send the JavaScript file as an email attachment to support@sothink.com along with your registration information.
