Hello,
The url does not change as the user clicks different 'tabs'.
I need the menu to indicate which 'page' they are on.

How can I indicate which menu item is selected via javascript when the url does not change?

.......................................................................... dhtml menu sample
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
stm_bm(["menu4448",900,"/path/","blank.gif",0,"","",0,0,250,0,500,1,0,0,"/path/","",0,0,1,2,"default","hand","",1,25],this);
stm_bp("p0",[0,4,0,0,0,0,0,7,100,"",-2,"",-2,50,0,0,"#999999","","",3,0,0,"#000000","",-1,-1,0,"","",3,"",17,17,0,"","you-big1.gif",3,"",-1,-1,0,"","",3,"",17,17,0,"","zuo-big1.gif",3,"","","","",17,17,17,17,17,17,17,17]);
stm_ai("p0i0",[0,"Home","","",-1,-1,0,"javascript:pickmenu(\"home\");","_self","","","","",0,0,0,"","",7,7,0,1,1,"#E6EFF9",1,"#FFD602",1,"middle.gif","2-middle.gif",3,3,0,0,"#E6EFF9","#000000","#5f5f5f","#336679","8pt Verdana","8pt Verdana",0,0,"left.gif","2-left.gif","left-noborde.gif","right-noborder.gif",2,1,39],170,39);
stm_aix("p0i2","p0i0",[0,"Office Details","","",-1,-1,0,"javascript:pickmenu(\"office\");"],170,39);
stm_aix("p0i3","p0i0",[0,"Country Reports","","",-1,-1,0,"javascript:pickmenu(\"country\");"],170,39);
stm_aix("p0i4","p0i0",[0,"Insurers Reports","","",-1,-1,0,"javascript:pickmenu(\"insurers\");"],170,39);
stm_aix("p0i5","p0i0",[0,"Archived Reports","","",-1,-1,0,"javascript:pickmenu(\"archives\");"],170,39);
stm_ep();
stm_em();
//-->
</script>

.......................................................................... js header sample
function pickmenu(which) {
document.getElementById(which).style.display = 'block';
break;
}

As you can see from my javascript function... I'm only changing a div's style to present different 'pages' to the user. There is loads of data on the web page.. the dhtml menu provides very nice navigation but highlighting cannot be automatic for my need.

I have used this to manage the expand of treemenu as different pages are opened.
stExpandSubTree('tree4bdf',2,1);

I'm hoping there is some similar command to set the highlight.

This remains an open issue for me.
I have this need and I would like resolution.
There has been many upgrades since I posted this question... is this feature now available?

Today I am building a popup and it has many divs which the dhtml menu uses to change which is displayed.
I would really like a method to keep the selected menu choice highlighted after it's selection.
