Hello,

I am new to the program. Could anyone please show me how to stop the loop of a text effect?

And also, could you show me how I could set the number of loops in an effect (if this is possible)?

[I wish I could run a text effect for 2 times (loops), and the texts will stay still after the loops.]

Thanks a lot and have a good evening!

I am just seeing this post, so I am responding in case someone else has this problem.

I had two text and effects that I was trying to use. One would stop and the other would keep going and going (like the Energizer bunny).

I am not sure if this is the best way, but this is what I did.

Steps...

1. Add text
2. Add effect
3. Add "Place" to each effect
How to add Place ( go under "add effect"- "emphasis"-"place").

4. Once you add "Place" you must stop them both at the same place on the timeline or one will stop and the other will keep going. For example: In the timeline if text #1 stops at 120, then text #2 must stop at 120. If text #1 stops at 115 and text #2 at 120, text # 1 will continue to loop.

Hope it helps. More importantly, I hope it makes sense. Here is my example http://www.mindyourbusiness.net/hojtest.html

Hi M,

Thank you for your post. I got an email reminder from the forum so I come back...

1. Since my last post I actually had tried different ways and had eventually figured out a solution for me...
2. The solution is to install a 'Place' tag at the end of each effect, with all effects to end at the same point.
3. I have a file which has as many as 3 different effects - One 'shape' and two 'text' effects - all done as per item 2 above.
3. The 'movie' does stop at the end and will not repeat.

Thanks again for the follow-up!
