Until now I used on www.janpaalman.nl a Java-based treemenu. E-navigator, to be precisely. It is (was) not bad at all, but very slow on loading and incompatable with some networks, like the one on my school - so I chose Sothink Tree menu.

www.janpaalman.nl contains more then 200 columns I wrote for a Dutch newspaper. Making a tree for all those columns is, even with Sothink Tree Menu, a formidable task.

My question is this: Is it more convenient to start with a blanco-tree, and modify the looks of that tree afterwards. Or do you have to choose the looks of the tree first before implementing that tree, so that you are stuck with the choices you made in the beginning.

I would prefer the first option. Is that possible? I think it is. But is it convenient?

Hi, I think you can firstly create a simple tree menu with one node containing sub nodes and another one containing nothing. You can decorate the menu, such as modify its color, bg color, text color or other properties and then save this menu as a template.

Then when you want to make a tree menu with hugh structure and lots of nodes, you can go to "template" - "Apply template to tree menu" with just few clicks to decorate the large tree menu.
You needn't to modify the look for each nodes but just change its text content.
