Hello, I´ve just updated my DHTMLmenu program and after making some changes to my menu and testing it on FireFox, i see all the accented characters (like the 'o' in 'Presentación') are changed for '?' marks and other weird characters... What's going on?... BTW, yes, it worked fine in my menus made with previous versions.
Besides of that, i'm having trouble when including the menu in my pages, in fact, the menu was already included, so i just had to replace the corresponding .js and image files... the problem is that now i updated the menu files, the menu doesn't show up!
If you want to look at the source files and html files, please download:

Thank you veyr much for your help

Regards

Hi Israel,

I think I fixed the problems. Take a look at http://pittwebs.com/nava/ and see if it's working as designed. If so, here's what I did:

1) For those menu items where you used accented characters, I used HTML instead of text. For example:
Code:
:: Investigación

2) In Global Settings-Advanced I unchecked Encode special characters.

3) I used completed URLs for the Script and Image paths. For example:
Code:
http://pittwebs.com/nava/script/

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Hi,

I'm new.
I do not understand why this soft can not convert itselft accents.
Why the "Convert special character" checkbox doesn't do the job ?

That the only one reason I will wait to buy this software :(

Thanks

Hello,

In DHTMLMenu program, if you want to insert non-English characters, please first set your default system language of your computer to be the specified language you are using at first.

For example, if you set the default language of your system to Chinese, Chinese characters should display correctly in menu.
If your OS is Win2000, set it in Regional Options>General>Language settings for the system.
If your OS is XP, open Control Panel, go to "Regional and Language Options", and in Advanced tab, please select "Chinese" for "Language for non-Unicode programs".

Please see the FAQ at:
http://www.sothink.com/product/dhtmlmen ... m#language

On the other hand, "Encoder special character" is a different feature which is designed for CGI programmers who want to create dynamic menus. That's a different thing with accented characters.

It's simply necessary to specify the language before set your default system language on the computer
