Hi there,

I have a little script-problem on http://www.kreativ-reise.de/html/frankreich.html.

On "Provence ab 11.06." I want to go to scene2, so I have put the code _root.gotoAndPlay("Scene 2"); under "press". It works fine in testing mode but on the website it doesn't.
Obviously I made a mistake, does anyone have an idea which one?
Is there a way to add the swf-file? Probably would be easiest as I have added a few other codes elsewhere, e.g. at scene1 _root.stop();
Otherwise it would flicker between scene1 and scene2. Don't know if this is important.

Thanlk you so much

First suggestion: Place an invisible box over the text and make that box the link.

Never seen it coded quite that way.

I'll get your answer when I get home, but the coding is the problem.

You can place the "stop():" in the FRAME's actionscript to make the movie stop at a certain frame.

I believe that you have used "_root" where it isn't needed which is causing problems.

Please upload the SOURCE FILE of your movie so that I can take a look at it.

Thanks!

No source file = unable to help.

Why?

Well, I can take your file apart with Quicker . . . but I cannot see your actual actionscript, your actual layout of scenes. When the movie is compiled you get an interpretation of what you may have meant. I know, I've done it with files I created.

If you don't want help, don't upload the file or make it otherwise available (by uploading the source to a server with a link for someone to download it to try to help.

If you really do want help, you know what you need to do. L8er.

hi guys,

thank you for your replies. for some reason i have made it harder because i didn't think of uploading the file so you can see what i have done (wriong).

I have put the file on the following page, it is called "Frankreich".
http://www.kreativ-reise.de/html/testtag.html

putting an invisable frame didn't solve the problem, same as before. i guess the coding isn't right.
thanks again and have a merry cristmas everyone.

Problem isn't with your flash movie, it's with your web page.

Even though your movie doesn't play continually (like an animation of snow), you need to make sure that the page is set to "loop" the movie. So, when you import it into your page, make sure you select "loop".

In your page code, I found this:

-----------------------------------

classid:"clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000",
src:"../assets/applets/Frankreich.swf", loop:"0", play:"1", scale:"ShowAll", wmode:"Window", bgcolor:"", salign:"Left", quality:"AutoLow", alt:""

-----------------------------------

Change the statement: loop:"0" to loop:"1" and it will work.

"0" tells the page DO NOT LOOP, same as loop=false.

"1" tells the page LOOP, same as loop=true

Hope this helps.

I would also change your actionscript from "_root.gotoAndPlay("Scene 2")" to read "_root.gotoAndPlay(2,1)" which points the browser to scene 2, frame 1.

Dear dijenga,

sorry for the very late reply. unfortunately i fell ill, so before today i didn't have the chance to work on the page.
just three words:
you solved it

i would never have come up with this. it really was the code of the page.

thanks again and a happy new year for you
