Frequently Asked Question-- Sothink SWF Decompiler

1. I tried to scan/decompile a Flash movie and Sothink SWF Decompiler generated an error or crashed?

Please provide us with the following information:

a) Do you have the problem with every SWF file or just one specific file?

b) What is your operating system?

c) Which version of Sothink SWF Decompiler are you using?

d) Have you got an error message? Some screenshots or a copy of the error report will be much appreciated.

Your detailed information will help us to make a further check about the problem and improve the software as well. Thanks!

2. Can I edit ActionScript in Sothink SWF Decompiler?

Sorry, the current Sothink SWF Decompiler does not support editing ActionScript directly in the program.

The AS Class Structure will be listed in the Export Panel like a folder-tree according to its path in package. You can view ActionScript in the Preview Window, copy it to your clipboard and export AS resources separately. But you are not able to edit it.

However, after you export the SWF as FLA, you can edit ActionScript in Adobe Flash. The FLA file will update automatically after the change is saved.

3. Why are the text fonts changed after exporting as FLA and how can i avoid the problem?

If the font used in Flash movie does not exist in Decompiler or is not recognized by Decompiler, it may be changed in the decompiling process. In order to avoid the problem, please check the option "Convert static text to shape" when exporting as FLA.

4.Why does Decompiler generate a blank HTML5 file when hitting export HTML5? Why does the exported HTML5 animation play in a loop? Why is the converted HTML5 not clickable?...

If your generated HTML5 file have one of the above problems, then your SWF file may not be supported for HTML5 conversion. Actionscript 2.0/3.0, video, sound and button are not supported temporarily, which will be supported in the future release.

5. How can I upload the generated HTML5 animation to my website?

In terms of applying HTML5 in webpage, please put the generated JS file in the same directary as the HTML5 file and insert the following code to desired place of your web page.

<td><iframe src="xxx.html" width="xxx" height="xxx" frameborder="0"></iframe></td>

Note: You should write correct *.html file name and path for the "src" value.

6. What are the trial version limitations of Sothink SWF Decompiler?

There are four trial limitations of Sothink SWF Decompiler.

a) Exporting Video type resources is disabled in unregistered version.

b) In the unregistered version, only TWO resources in each category can be exported.

c) Viewing all ActionScript is supported, but copying and pasting are unavailable.

d) The unregistered version allows you to replace SWF elements and preview results, but saving the new SWF files is prohibited.

In the trial version, all the decompiled resource files and ActionScripts can be viewed clearly and it is enough for you to test the software performance.

You can also join "Test Before Buy" service (FREE) to experience its great performance. Just attach a SWF file to support@sothink.com, we will decompile this SWF by the latest version and inform you the test result (FLA kept by us).
